SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Poston Restoration Project received generous grants from the California
Civil Liberties Public Education Program (CCLPEP) and the National Trust
for Historic Preservation (NTHP), San Francisco office to host the first
two workshops. In addition, we received donations from the Blue Water
Resort and Casino, CRIT Education Department, and private donations
from former Poston internees, relatives and friends.
OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
With participation and cooperation from CRIT members,
former Poston detainees, and other interested parties, the following
four workshops were held to move the Poston Restoration Project forward:
June 7, 2003, Los Angeles,
CA
Purpose of workshop: to organize and pre-plan for October 23-25, 2003
a three-day workshop to be held at the Colorado River Indian Reservation.
October 23-25, 2003,
Colorado River Indian Reservation, Blue Water Resort and Casino
Purpose of workshop: to develop a strategic vision for the project.

CA
Purpose of workshop: to discuss possible fundraising options.
October 23, 2004, Tempe,
Arizona
Purpose of workshop: to develop a master timeline to assign tasks to
project committees. Areas covered:
• Visitor’s experience
• Restoration and construction of Poston Camp I site
• Fundraising issues
• Incorporation of project
