The Veterinary Medical Technology program is designed for students who would like to earn an Associate degree and become a certified veterinary technician. The program, one of only two in the state, combines classroom experience with clinical experience in veterinary hospitals.

The two-year program accepts 48 full-time students who will be divided and given a choice of all day or all evening classes. This determination may be made upon space availability at the time of acceptance.

After successfully completing the program, students are eligible to write the National Examination for Registered Veterinary Technicians for licensure in Illinois. The Associate degree is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is approved by the State of Illinois.
